We endorse internet access as a human right, along with freedom of expression and opinion, the privacy of information, and communication and information security. With a clear commitment to safety, privacy and the security of mobile communications services, MTN aims to ensure that the benefits of a modern connected life enrich lives and society. Respecting human rights is a vital part of how MTN does business. We endeavour to avoid adverse human rights impacts where we identify a risk and take mitigation steps where we are unable to avoid these risks. Since 2012, we have been a signatory to the UNGC, which commits companies to 10 guiding principles on human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and measures to fight corruption.
