Skills, expertise and experience
Nompilo Morafo is the Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, effective 1 February 2022. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of Group Executive responsible for this function.
Nompilo’s key areas of focus include decarbonization, diversity and inclusion programmes, stakeholder management including strategic communications, protecting human rights and reporting requirements. Through her leadership, she aims to drive MTN’s sustainability agenda, champion responsible business practices, and create long-term value for stakeholders while ensuring a positive societal impact.
With over 20 years of experience in corporate affairs, country management, and sustainability across diverse sectors, including financial services, mining, oil and gas, and telecommunications, Nompilo brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Previously serving as the Country Director for Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainable Development at LafargeHolcim, and the Vice President for Sasol’s International Exploration and Production business spanning across various countries based in Mozambique. She joined MTN in 2019.
