Other directorships: Director of various companies in the MTN Group. Khotso is currently the Chairman of AECI, Hans Merensky Holdings (Pty) Limited and Westfalia Fruit International, a UK Registered subsidiary of Hans Merensky Holdings (Pty) Ltd. and Hans Merensky Legacy Foundation NPC. He is a Non-Executive Director of Hans Merensky Foundation SPV, an Investment Vehicle of Hans Merensky Legacy Foundation NPC, and an Alternate Non-Executive Director of Merensky Timber. He is a Trustee of 821 Wendywood Ext 2 CC (a Personal Investment Vehicle) and also holds the following non-executive directorships by virtue of his personal shareholding: Kenosi Investment Holdings (a Personal Investment Vehicle), Delta Zero Corporation (Pty) Limited (currently non-operating), Industrial Marketing Corporation of South Africa (currently non-operating), Seasoned Capital.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Khotso’s role in science is recognised nationally and internationally. He previously served as President/CEO of the National Research Foundation and Special Advisor to two Ministers of Science and Technology in South Africa as well as Chancellor of the University of the Free State. He also represented South Africa on the executive board of UNESCO, served as Vice President of the International Science Council and was awarded the Member Legion of Honour of the Republic of France for his work in strengthening scientific ties between South Africa/Africa and France.
